On Wednesday Kelly met us after a bit of a lie-in (this will be a theme) and we went to Pearl River Mart, a very very cool Asian department store near our hotel. After shopping there for at least an hour and a half, we took a cab to Blue Ribbon Bakery (as we were all half-starved) and had yummy yummy bread and lunch (matzoh ball soup, and half a chicken sandwich).

After Blue Ribbon, I don't really know what we did. I'm sure it involved shopping and walking around. But I didn't scribble anything specific in my trip diary, so I don't know what exactly it was. Anyhoo, after a while, we made our way back to Kelly's dorm. We'd never seen it before. And we got to meet Kelly's roommate, Erica, who's very cool and see where Kelly lives (also very cool). She's got a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Kelly and Erica got ready and we made our way to Time Square and had dinner at Le Bonne Soupe, a very excellent little French Bistro (I guess that's how you'd classify it ... whatever!).

After dinner, Kelly, Erica and I went to see Avenue Q, a vair vair funny Broadway musical that might best be described as a R-rated version of Sesame Street. It includes songs such as "I Love Porn" and "It Sucks to Be Me." Mom and Grandma went to see 42nd street. They enjoyed that as well. Then we managed to navigate the subway back to our hotel (it wasn't really that hard, honest).
