Origami Magnets Box
Project Overview

Supplies
+ a couple of sheets of decorative paper (big enough for 8.5" square to be cut out of them)
+ a piece of metal (something that magnets will stick to)
+ good glue stick
+ ruler
+ sharpie
+ tin snips
+ silicon sealer
Directions
Start by carefully marking off 2 7/8" square on your sheet of metal with the sharpie. Use the tin snips to cut it out. This measurement will work if you're using the dimensions given in these instructions, but if you're using different dimensions, you'll have to work this part out on your own.

Next, cut the pieces of paper to size. They should be 8.5" square and 8.25" square respectively. The larger piece will be for the top, the smaller piece for the bottom.

We'll work on the top first. Fold the piece in half diagonally. Unfold, and fold diagonally again in the other direction. Unfold. Fold each corner into the center. Take a side and fold it into the middle. Unfold it. Do the same with the other three sides in turn. Unfold the paper completely. At the center of each edge of the paper, cut from the edge diagonally through the square that's been folded. You'll have four cuts. Fold two of the corners into the center again. Then fold the excess triangles on their edges in. On the edges that aren't folded into the center, fold the edges in and secure them using your glue stick. Then put a generous amount of glue stick on the center of these square bits and fold them in, tucking the little triangles from the other sides underneath and getting them all glued in. Repeat with the other side. You should now have half a box with four flaps in the bottom. Glue these down and you've got half a box.

Now you've got to make the bottom. Follow the instructions from above, but stop, once you have the flaps folded in and glued down. Take the silicon sealer and glue the metal square into what will be the bottom of the box. Then fold in the box as above, using silicon sealer instead of glue stick wherever you need to glue the paper to the metal.

Now you've got a bottom that should fit perfectly into its top.
